Yaris cross awd jacking points

Have purchased a jack from Toyota parts direct, so I can remove and clean the wheels and will purchase a spare wheel soon. However having looked in the handbook I cannot work out exactly where the jacking points are. It shows point just behind the front wheel and in front of rear wheel.

But there doesn't seem to be anywhere the jack fits safely. Apart from directly on the sill.

Any help would be appreciated.

Else will try dealer see they can show me.

What type of jack? Is it a scissor jack, usually supplied with a car for roadside wheel changing?

If so, I would never use it for anything other than that.

The usual jacking points, four of them, are on the sills' pinch welds. Just behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels. Indentified by, probably, small cut outs in the pinch weld. If a Toyota jack the shoe (the top piece which contacts the car) should be recessed to accomodate the pinch weld.

Don't know re the Yaris Cross, but there are jacking points centrally located, front and rear, for a "proper" jack, e.g. trolley type. They should all be identified in the manual for the car.

Never rely on a jack alone other than, say, changing a wheel at the roadside, in an emergency situation.

Pages 349 and 426 in the manual, possibly.

There are usually designated jacking points on the bottom of the sill. Have a good look on the bottom projecting edge, there’s two on each side for front and rear wheels.

Hi,

It is a scissor jack, will only use for wheel change when required.

There are some cutouts in the sill, so assume that is it.

Thanks for the information.

The instructions miss out an important point ; slacken the nuts before jacking off the ground.   Tighten before lowering the car off the jack then once on wheels torque to correct setting.
