New car

Hi,

I am having a couple of teething problems with my 2019 icon Tec which are probably user error not the car.

When i use the sat nav and set the zoom to my own preference it zooms in at roundabouts etc but then doesn't return to my preference so i have to use the magnifying glass icon to change it could someone tell me how i stop this, thanks.

The voice commands are also quiet when the radio is on is there a setting to change this?

Could someone also tell me what the bar the white arrow is pointing at is for.

I assumed the bars inside the headlight (blue arrows) were daytime running lights but they don't appear to light up am i right in thinking they are not DRL's and the light (white arrow) is the DRL?

A similar question about the rear lights i assumed the red part (white arrows) were led's but they don't light up so is the tail and brake light the one with the blue arrow?

When i tested the car it had a speed warning on the dash (see below) it now doesn't could someone tell me what i have changed that has caused this.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give, the car is brilliant its a shame the driver isn't.  😄

I can't remember if it applies to these (long time since I set it up) but most cars have separate audio and nav volumes. There may be a setting somewhere, but the usual way to change is with the volume knob. If the audio is playing it changes that volume and if the nav is talking it changes that.

As such it's a bit tricky as the nav instructions are usually quite short, but with a few tries you should get it right.

When there are delays reported (likes roadworks) by live traffic a coloured section will appear to show where it is in your journey and how long it is. (I think the icon at the top is the 'queues' one you see around.)

The bar represents your remaining travel I think as the blob moves down and hits the bottom as you reach the delay.

It was showing us the 50mph section on the M3 the other day.

Sorry, I don't really have answers to the other questions.

Ours is a Yaris Cross with the 9" screen so don't know if the same applies, but I can only change the volume of the Navigation with the steering wheel controls and then only when the voice is active. The controls at the side of the screen only seem to affect media.

1, I'm sure there is setting the settings menu, Navigation prompt can be set in Setup (button) - General - Volume settings

Hidden menu if you like to play

Another Hidden menu, works on many of the Toyota touch 2 systems

Setup - General - volume settings

Press top and middle left 3 times each e.g. Top, Middle - Top, Middle - Top, Middle

2, it's just a chrome trim it's part of the design aesthetics

3, nope just reflectors 1 reverse light 1 fog

Speed warning is set with the steering wheel controls (right hand)

I believe the Excel and GRMN spec were the only MK3's to have the LED front DRLs and rear tail/brake lights you've described.

You're prpbably better off with the Icon Tech. If the LEDs failed, you'd be looking at an expensive MOT failure. Saying that, my Mk2 has LED brake lights and they still work perfectly after 12 years. I have seen a couple of Excel MK3's where the front LED DRL's have partially failed (both on the middle arrow from your pic).

the reverse light is led £70 a time and 1 manufacturer, nearly zero fail rate tho

Another member was looking to do twin reverse/fog light conversion
