MY22 Corolla - how to configure SATNAV to avoid toll roads

We've got a MY22 Corolla H/B with the new touchscreen and software, ie without the physical buttons near the screen.

How do I configure the Satnav to avoid toll roads? It's exasperating because it keeps trying to send me down the M6 Toll.

does this work for the older 2020 touchscreen?

I have "avoid toll roads set" on my 2021 Toyota Prado Nav system, but this preference is ignored. On long trips, it insists on bringing back all 3 route options (short, quick, alternate) with a toll road component. Does anyone know if this is a known bug, and/or is there a way to ensure that it heeds your preference and gives you at least 1 route option with no toll roads?
