Interior lights

When i get into my toyota corolla hybrid  GR sports model, the lights do not come on, so i am sitting in the dark? I have seached my handbook and cannot find any info at all. Surely they should come on at night, rather than sitting in the dark, not knowing what to do?

There is usually a three position switch on or near one of the interior lights. Positions - on, off or door.

If the switch is in the 'off' position, the lights won't illuminate when any door is opened. Check the switch and if it is off, select door, and the lights should come on when a door opens.

On corolla there are two room lamps:

• Front by Rear view mirror ensure the button 1 of 4 with picture of open car doors is pressed
• Roof centre move the slider to to door option.

With my 2021 Corolla HB if its dark in cabin with door shut I have found that if you pull down drivers sun visor and slide back the vanity mirror cover a light comes on in the roof  to enable you to see most controls in cabin.You MUST slide back cover over the vanity mirror, a flat Battery might be the result. The switches in the roof near the rear view mirror are impossible to see in the dark without a torch even with the door open. Hope this helps someone.

There is a button in the overhead console that disables / enables the interior lights, try it.

Just had a look in the car and the button referred to in my post above has got Door written on it.
