Hi guys.
Could anyone please tell me what OEM tyres would have been fitted at the factory to my 2009 Auris TR 1.3 Stop/Start? Handbook states that the correct size is 205/55 R16 91V.
Thankyou.

The two UK built 5 door Auris I had from new (2009 & 2012) were fitted with Continental tyres (205/55/16 91 V). If yours is a 3 door that would have been built in Turkey, so the make of tyre could differ.

Hi,

why are you looking for OEM  tyres?
In many cases the oem tyres are not the best that you can get and changing to something better is a great idea.  Some new Corolla’s  for example comes with terrible tyres that last only 10-15k miles on average, they are noisy and loose grip on wet easily, plus after only two years the rubber become brittle and goes off in peaces like an old bread. Many owners upgraded to better quality tyres and reporting their cars has changed drastically.

I had conti’s on my 2015 Auris 205/55/16 found them ok car had done 18000 when I traded it in plenty of tread left on them although I did rotate them (diaganolly as you should do).

As Tony said there are plenty of tyres out there  that are as good if not better and probably a lot cheaper. I know one thing I will be glad when the falkens ware out on the corolla and I can replace them with something quieter.

Interesting about the falkens, I had a pair on my old Vauxhall recently, local independent tyre shop swears by them and fine on VX, not noisey, just simply do the job. I would have chucked some on the Auris too but you reckon they're quite noisy? Last thing you want on Auris is more road noise!

My Auris is going to be 4 years old and has Continentals on it. Comparing to previous 2 years of ownership they seem have a little bit worse grip on wet roads despite sufficient thead depth. Same with winter tyres, they are also Continentals. It is just me or do you guys experience same issues?

Perhaps the size difference. Same make and model tyres on different sizes behave differently, this is important to be noted. The falkens in Corolla are large 225 or 235 and also uhp ultra high performance tyres which are the worst tyres to be fitted to low powered hybrid cars. They maybe good for track days or high speed mountain drives where they get hot and sticky but in everyday use similar to sport brake pads they simply doesn’t work well. 👍
