Toyota Starlet EP70 Lowering Springs

Hello.

I am New to the forums and fairly new to car modification. I have a 1987 Starlet GL EP70. I am looking at putting some lowering springs on it. I have found a Set of Spax 40mm lowering springs that fit and EP70. But going of what a college has said id have to put new shocks on the car. The only set of performance shocks i have found are Bilstein B6 ones that Fit and P8 generation. I have found in various places that the p7 and p8 generation starlets share the same suspension set up. I was wondering if this is indeed true and that p8 generation suspension parts will fit on my Starlet. 

If any one is able to help it would be much appreciated.
