Evening everyone,

just quickly checked my tyre depths, and had a bit of a surprise. I’ve done just under 16,000 miles and am not much more than 2mm (all round - as I rotate every 6k miles). The 2mm is in the middle, and I recon perhaps around 4mm on the outsides - which suggests I’ve been running them over-inflated, however they are all pumped up to the sticker in the door (the lower pressures of the two options).

anyone else with 17in wheels found this?

Are these falkens?
If yes no surprise then. These tyres does not last long. The lower pressure is the correct one, unless you are driving fully loaded or at speeds at 100mph or over. For best tyre pressure check and adjusting is to do that in the morning before sun rises and before you drive off. Good pressure gauge and air compressor are must have accessories. Do not trust garages even tyres fitters, beat to do this job yourself. My Goodyear tyres has 4-5mm all around after 80k miles traveled, they are superb touring tyres. 👍

Yep, OEM Falkens. I’ve got a digital pressure gauge at home which has proven reliable on other cars (I’ve never had this issue on other cars).

looking like an expensive period for tyres coming up then - wife’s Yaris needs some as well

Oh well, this always happens like that. At least there are currently some good discounts that you can have quality tyres at great prices. Here ats offer £64 off and their prices are competitive even before discount. https://www.atseuromaster.co.uk/consumer/special-offers/goodyear-promotion
Both cars saving you £128 if you like Goodyear. Michelin £40 -£100 off at just tyres. https://www.justtyres.co.uk/pages/michelin-offer
I a, tempted but just don’t want to buy now as I am not really sure whether to go all season or buy my favourite summer Goodyear again.

Agree Falkens not good for longevity and changed on front after 14k miles
