Left mirror indicator bulb is not working, help required - MK3 hybrid.

So I have left this for a while but would like to be able to fix it. The bulb is working as I have tested it using a battery/multimeter. Electric mirror is working, so I assume it's not the fuse.

I think maybe a loose connection somewhere. Anyone technical can point me in the right direction, which wire(s) or things to look for.

Have you tested for power at the bulb plug it may be a broken wire where the loom enters the door.

Am not very technical, which settings of the multimeter do I set it to? Need to find the multimeter first as put it in storage somewhere when I was moving house.

Pop the door card off and check the mirror connector

Am not sure which number/connector to check for the indictor bulb. Noticed the heating on the mirror is not working too. Right side working fine with rear window heating on. So it's bulb + heater.

Will give the above a go when I retrieve the multimeter and a bit of time to look into it. Thanks

It's sounding like a ground/earth issue, check the plugs and earth point behind the kick panel in the passenger footwell

Update:

So I had a bit of time just now and had a look at the left kick plate as suggested by flash. Found a connector were out, put it back in and all working again, indicator and heated mirror! Thanks a lot flash Bob for your knowledge!

A new mirror, door harness, and 5 hours labour - out the door for £1500 😐

I wouldn't put it past some dealers! They would of charge for diagnostic anyhow. Anything £200+ I would live with it as it is, later on sell it, which is what I'm doing when my mk4 order gets delivered.

Thanks again Bob 😃
