I pick up my new 1.8 Corolla GR Sport on Friday and I am looking for advice as to how easy it is to hard wire my dash cam.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi I wired my dash cam from the fuse box behind the glove box and piggy backed off the power socket fuse

Thanks for the reply Chris.

However, I came across this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B097XPGFKX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It took literally 15 minutes to fit and works perfectly  It looks like an OEM fit and is highly recommended.

That's an interesting piece of kit and very simple to install. Let us know if you get any future problems with it.

Any idea what fuse I would use to piggy back a footwell light in the fuse box? I've already have my Dashcam piggy backed.

I put some blue lights in the footwell and piggy backed  the fuse that uses the rear lights. Ideally I would have liked them to come on when the car was unlocked (ie they come on as courtesy lights) but it was to much hassle I tried the courtesy light fuse but it was still live when the courtesy lights went off presumably because that fuse protects more than the courtesy light circuit which would have meant that they stayed on all the time. As it is they come on when the lights come on. If you can take power from the actual courtesy light that might work.

Think I'll just do what you did. Many thanks
