High beam and blower motor dead

The blower motor turned dead. I checked the fuses, not blown. Then I removed the blower. It worked. I sprayed CRC on connectors and put the blower back. It still works. Then I collected everything to the correct places, blower dead again. No more power to the blower. I changed the blower relay, no help.

Next day, the high beam dead too, even the indicator light didn´t work. I was told that the fuse box might be broken, should be a typical defect for Aygo 2005-2014. The problem is that a second-hand fuse box/speedometer costs 150 Euros and no money back if it doesn´t help. In a wreck yard they said that I have to buy whole speedometer unit, which is connected to the fuse box.

Any ideas what to do?

Diagnose the issue before throwing parts at it

What else does not work ? Don't forget the fuse box under the bonnet

What relay did you touch the one marked Fan is for the radiator, the Blower motor relay is marked HTR

Do the indicators work on the exterior of the car ? Do the hazards work ??

Does the interior light work ? (15a dome fuse)

Do the Reverse light(s) work ? (10a back up)

I don´t understand what you mean by indicators on the exterior of the car. English is not my first language.

>Do the hazards work ??

Yes

Does the interior light work ? (15a dome fuse)

Yes

Do the Reverse light(s) work ? (10a back up)

Indicators - Directional lights - Orange flashy lights on the 4 corners

check your headlight bulbs 1 may have been blow and the other has just blown

Does the blower motor come on when set to full speed ? Does the car have A/C ?

All work

>check your headlight bulbs 1 may have been blow and the other has just blownIne

One was blown, I changed couple of days ago. Can it effect to blower which was dead before I changed the bulb?

>Does the blower motor come on when set to full speed ?

No, but all speeds worked when I opened the dashboard first time. Resistor is not broken.

>Does the car have A/C ?

Yes, but cant say if it´s working because the blower is dead.

i think you have 2 problems as the circuits are unrelated

turn the blower on full and tap/hit the motor

Edit. make sure all the plugs are plugged into the back of the speedo/fuse box correctly

I tried it already

>Edit. make sure all the plugs are plugged into the back of the speedo/fuse box correctly

Checked before

Would it be possible that the bottom of the fuse box is broken?

How did you test the motor ? The blower has its own 40a (HTR fuse) 12v is supplied directly to the motor

i take it you have removed the cabin filter

First I tested there is power to the motor, there was. Then I connected motor back to it´s place. All motor speeds worked.

What do you mean about this, English is not my first language: "... is supplied directly to the motori take it you have removed the cabin filter."

Cabin filter is in the cabin and the fuse you are talking about is in motor location.

If you have power to the motor, the fuse is ok

with the blower out of the car, does it spin freely, more than likely is just a worn blower motor
