hello people im currently new to this scene and fancy a gen 6 celica, have looked at a 2l in yellow(import) colour is faded in parts!! is this common , a few people have told me to stay clear because of the colour but i find it looks cool. i think its the 14obhp engine! any views and hints on buyin one greatfully accepted. cheers guys

firstly if its a 2 litre it will be 173 bhp . plus imports are set up for super unleaded.

as the ecu is programmed as such for 98 ron fuel.so you might even squeeze 180 bhp out of it with super unleaded.make sure the anti lock brakes are working if fitted there's a big pump on the left of front under bonnet , thats the abs pump.take the time to have a good look around for accident damage , respray over- spray under wheel arches and suchplaces. if all seems well get it , you wont be sorry for a good few years.fading in parts happens to red cars if they arnt laquered also.http://www.alljapanesecars.com/viewmd.php3?mk=Toyota&md=Celica

oh 1 more thing imports are limited to 112 mph, but it can be removed with a delimiter box. check out my gen6.

Pretty sure the SS1's are available as imports also i.e. around 150BHP

i actually thought most of them were ss1's

find out the engine code - 3S-FE / 3S-GE

and the model of the car i.e. ST202 or ST203.

having looked further it appears the st202 did come with a 3sfe (140 bhp ) or 3sge engine (173 bhp ) from japan., time for some more :bookworm: me thinks.

cheers guys , yeah i have read up on the ss1 and i am pretty sure it was from wot it said on the rocker cover! would i be better waiting for a gt 170bhp?? is there much diff in mpg?? male born ur car looks mint mate ! red def looks sweet when it has a mirror like shine like that

i get on average 85 to 100 miles out of a tenners worth in my gt.probably more driving it carefull , i would defo wait and get the gt model uk if possible for parts and insurance purposes . redline in each gear they go like the wind.

have you seen a yellow one before mate? true i think your right about waiting prob for a red one too but the colour was real nice although was very faded in parts which might get to me after a while and cost £££ ! any more pics of urs mate? any mods done?

decat - kn induction , sony head unit ,lowered 35mm,17 " alloys, italian aluminium gear knob,clear indicators.thinking vealside bodykit maybe or trade it in against a new celica or a 3 litre supra
