Japanese Speed Limits

Whilst driving across Europe I made use of the cruise control but noticed on my Estima you cannot set it above about 105KM/H roughly 65 MPH, Anyone else noticed this and is there a re mapp that can increase this to 120KPH?

It's a JDM agreement to limit it at 112 Kmh and 180 Kmh top speed

finding someone that can change is going to be the hard bit

Ah! So there is a restriction being applied!! I thought my control unit was faulty!! I was confused as to why I could set it for A-road speeds but not when on the motorway...! That had me scratching my head! 😵

My car, albeit an imported JDM Subaru definitely has cruise control speed parameters in the ECU software maps. This is viewable in the open source Rom Raider editor after downloading data from the car. I would think this would also be the case for your car so Toyota tuners could adjust it.

Just to also state I learnt the cruise control will also not engage if you are above the pre set limit which was a little dangerous at first when not know and vehicles are approaching fast at 130KPH and you are slowing because of the lack of cruise control at that point.
