Normally I don't use CarPlay in my car as I don't like having cables around when I am driving. Also I don't want to spend time plugging cables in my phone just before driving and unplugging cables after driving. I decided to try this wireless adapter and I really happy that I did try it.
It was really easy to install it and get it connected with my phone and car. It took just few minutes to get it set and since then everything works without issues.
The CarPlay adapter comes with really short USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable that you need to use to connect it to your car.
You will need to start the engine of your car to get your infotainment systems working and connect the CarPlay adapter. After that you need to turn on the WiFi and bluetooth on your phone. If normally you have your Siri disabled, you will need to enable it as well.
From the bluetooth menu of your phone, you need to find the device with the name shown on your infotainment systems. When you connect to the bluetooth of the CarPlay adapter ,your phone will get connected to the WiFi of the CarPlay adapter as well. After both of them get connected to the CarPlay adapter, you will get the CarPlay menu of your phone on your car's infotainment systems. When you finish with this initial setup ,the CarPlay adapter works without issues. You just need to make sure that both the Bluetooth and the WiFi of your phone are working and your phone with automatically connect to the CarPlay adapter. If you need to use any navigation app from the CarPlay Menu ,you will also need to turn on Location Service on your phone.
The price of this Wireless CarPlay adapter is reasonable, and for me it is worth it.
When I start the engine of the car, the CarPlay adapter gets connected to my phone and to the car and I don't need to do anything else to make it work.
Overall I find this Wireless CarPlay adapter to be amazing and well worth the money to be able to use the phone charging or leave your phone in your pocket. It works well with my car, so far so good! And the carlinkitlife website's after-service is nice. If you encounter problems in use, they will give you a corresponding solution, and they reply very fast.
I'm usually not so wordy but I felt it important to lay out my experience in great detail to help those people who wants to own wireless carplay. For thousands who travel for work and use their car, it’s worth having. I recommend you to try it.

It’s a good device. Had one on my Corolla since June. Just an occasional failure to connect - normally after a short engine off - engine on cycle. Makes using Car Play so easy.

Not surprised by that, I have the same issue with Smart Connect; on occasion it's not so smart.

Which device did you purchase, was it the 2022 Carlinkit 4.0 (2 in 1) adapter or the version 3.0?  There are 2  4.0 versions on Amazon, by the same company, where one is £85ish and the other £132ish but  there appears to be no difference in the description of each product.

Is this for short trips and such?

As much as I'd love the CarPlay to be wireless, the wireless charger on toyota simply does not work with the latest iPhones, and obviously having wireless CarPlay and plugging your phone in for charging defeats the purpose.

wireless charger barely works with any phone, its not iPhone specific. on the subject, the drain durin AA wireless is so low i dont bother charging in car at all.

This (as i mentioned a number of times before) is due to the magnets in the case/phone for magsafe interfering with the toyota charges safety system that detects metal.

pre MagSafe phones charge correctly…

some of us have installed magsafe charges plugged into the cig socket power.

Yeah, short trips wireless and longer trips wired is the plan. (Don’t have wireless charging in our car so may as well be plugged in to CarPlay as just charging)

Buy a magsafe adapter (from apple) and suitable PD enabled usb-c cigarette socket adapter and some 3m command hook velcro to mount said magsafe adapter. And you will have wireless charging.

Sorry for delay but took a little time to come across from China 😃

Thanks for recommendation as it's working well so far and ideal for shorter journeys.

Thereby wasting fuel (albeit not very much). Wireless charging is less efficient and if you're going to take the phone out of your pocket anyway you might as well just plug it in.

The only advantage I can see to wireless AA is if it means you can leave your phone in your pocket. And if all you're doing is using the phone as an audio streaming source you don't need AA. Just stream the audio over bluetooth - that's what I do. It's all completely automatic as well. Switch on car, music starts playing - picking up from where I last left it whether that be from earlier driving or from my earphones.

I remain of the opinion that wireless AA is a solution looking for a problem and spending money in order to have it seems to be a waste.

Horses for courses i guess.
Not everyone uses the functionality in the same way. I get what you are saying about fuel, but you waste a hell of a lot more by turning the heating or AC on. And i wont be restricting my comfort levels any time soon and will still spend that extra yearly £.
