Fantastic news, bet you cannot wait !

Please could we ask about the Dash Cam ?

Do you think it's worth having, what are the pro's and con's.

How much can it store, is it like a whole day, week etc. ?

And if you don't mind, how much does it cost for both front and rear dash cam

Toyota UK have been offering the Nextbase 380GW dash cam as a dealer fit accessory for a few years. Prices are on the Price List. You can have the front dash cam for around £280 or the front and rear for around £360 - the price varies slightly between models, and, confusingly, is missing from the details for the bZ4X.

With the supplied SD-card it will store around 2 hours driving time for the front & rear pair (so around 4 hours for front only) but you can buy and fit a larger SD-card if you wish. It overwrites older data so that you always have the last 'n' hours available.

We have them fitted to both the RAV4 and C-HR. They work just fine in the sense that the dash cam comes on automatically, records and switches off again at the end of each journey without any driver intervention. The quality of the video is fine - certainly good enough to support an insurance claim if required.

And, as with all insurance that I have, I sincerely hope that it turns out to be a "waste of money" but I have it anyway ... 😉

Thanks, sounds a good option.

Is it a difficult job to fit the larger SD card ?

The only other thought was with a dog in the boot space, not sure if any exposed cables / part the dog could chew...

Just like that:

I can't talk to dogs and chewing, or the bZ4X for that matter, but in a RAV4 or C-HR the rear camera is glued to the top of rear screen while the cables are largely hidden under the headlining etc. ...

Sounds fine.

Looking at the Toyota price list , all the dash cam options seem to say " Centre fitment only... "  Not sure what that means, have put a call into the dealer

Is there any recommendations for an a offline 360 degree camera - or perhaps something that's activated on motion, when no one's in the car ?  I've gotten a few dings and scrapes in car parks and it would be kewl to catch them in the act.

But car waiting in dealer garden. No delivery for today.

That's disappointing and bad that this wasn't communicated before you went to the dealership.

Did they tell you what the problem was?

Really sorry to hear that. Was your order via Toyota Online or with the dealer?

Mine is with Toyota Online and I’m finding the communication between them and the dealer is appalling. Last week my dealer (who I’ve been a customer of for over 20 years) told me they’d been told not to give me any information and I had to talk to Toyota Online for updates.
Would appreciate knowing more about the pick-up problems as I’m very worried I’m going to face the same.

I bought it from dealer and the prepared car is vision fwd not premiere edition 😔 I have no idea how they could succeed it.

Tomorrow they will try to give an alternative solution. My concern is new tax legislation for EV cars on 17.11.22.

Wait.

They just had the completely wrong car?!

I can't fathom how that is possible.

Unbelievable! Someone else posted that this happened to them not that long ago, with a different model, but I figured it was an isolated incident...!

I hope you get some satisfaction from them...

With previous vehicle tax changes announced in budgets, they have been effective from the next financial year (ie. April). However, the supposed current £7 billion shortfall in vehicle tax may mean changes come in sooner ....

I am back! Finally, we had a deal with my dealer after a long negotiation!

Unfortunately they cannot order Premier Edition anymore. Order is closed for this trim. Thus we didnt have too many options.

1) They reserved for me the one they hold in the showroom. Metalic dark blue premiere edition.

2) They will not charge collor difference amount to me.

3) Gifted first 2 services + rubber mats for free

4) They gave me rav4 untill they get the car ready.

5) Same finance as it was april 22 from %4.9

This was the best they can offer for the trouble they caused...

I will be waiting extra 2-3 months as demonstrator car belongs to Toyota GB.

Is this car just staying in the showroom, so no mileage added, or is it going to be a used vehicle with demonstrator test drive mileage?

Did you ask if there were any abandoned orders in the system?
