I have inherited a 1986 Toyota Corrolla GT twin cam 16 v hatchback which has been in a garage for 25years

Any advice on what to do with it engine ran fine when put in garage

Front and back wings badly corroded around wheel arches

Hi,

Are you looking to restore the car yourself ?  otherwise you might want to  look at the  specialist market as some say that model is becoming a classic and someone will be happy to spend a lot of time and money restoring it.

One problem is that spare parts for that year are becoming very hard to find.

Either way do not attempt to start the engine !

First it should be manually turned to ensure its bores are not siezed, it then needs the old fuel and filter changing along with the oils and filters, best left to an experienced restorer or risk serious engine damage.

Same with the wheels, the bearings and or brakes may be siezed on and the tyres badly degraded, you can buy various dollies/skates/skids to move it out of a garage etc.

If looking to sell plenty of specialist magazines or you could advertise  it in or  sell at one of the auction sites like the tv program Mathewsons, Bangers and Cash
