2022 Cabin Charging Points/Power Outlets

Hi All

Similarly to many on here I'm currently waiting for my new RAV4 to turn up.

Whilst waiting I'm planning my next driving holiday and thinking about what power outlets there are in the car for the family to run their various devices whilst we trundle across Europe.

Could one of you lucky enough to currently be in possession of a new Rav4 let me know what outlets there are so I can pre-emptively acquire the correct cables to prevent world war three breaking out.

Cheers

My ‘21 PHEV has a 240v mains outlet in the boot space but it has a Continental socket, so I’ve bought and adapter to UK socket. The maximum power in the UK spec is 150w.

It works well and I’ve tested it charging a laptop no problems.

Plus the usual accessory sockets and type A USB’s. However, the ‘23 spec may be different.

You'd probably do best to wait until it arrives ... 😉

There are:

  • 12v accessory outlets on the dash and in the boot
  • A USB port for the infotainment system on the dash
  • 2 USB connectors within the front armrest
  • 2 USB connectors at the rear

In mine, all the USB are USB type A. Toyota have switched to USB type C in later models. So you'd probably do best to wait to see what you actually get when it arrives ...

I can concur, my 22' PHEV arrived last month.  The USB socket in the dash for the infotainment is still USB type A.  However, the other 4 sockets are USB type C.

Yep that is exactly how mine arrived.
