I have seen instagram posts that both bz4x and Solterra are available for test drive in Denmark at some dealers. Think I saw them yesterday.

Toyota Ireland Premiere trim is not getting JBL premium sound system. I don't know if it was like this from the beginning or recently updated. I hope we will get JBL sound system in the UK!

Toyota's own speaker system is sounding great.

I listened both at bz4x. I know it is quite nice but JBL is giving much more clear sound.

This is solterra but I noticed from video that rear window clean itself after 50 km/h. Subaru owners are lucky they will have digital rear-view mirror. It looks like this will be a problem for Toyota bZ4X owners when you drive rainy day in urban area with low speed in the UK.

Fantastic guide , thanks !!

One question please; what is the advantage of the Toyota Charging Network that we get for free for 6 months ?

In the UK so far it seems to be the ability to pay from a single account rather than needing a separate card or account per charge network (not all charge points take contactless cards yet).
In the USA they get free charging not sure about other countries.

Problem is there are plenty of other options for this type of service such as zap-maps, Bonnet, plugsurfing. So the main differentiator is integration with the car, but it also depends on how many networks Toyota have signed up. Nothing worst than being forced to drive 20 miles out your way to find out there is a charger round the corner when you check zap-maps.

Ya, agree with everything you've said. I've signed up for it. But also have signed up for the no sub versions of Bonnet and Shell recharge. I am currently undecided whether a premium sub for ABRP or Zap-Map is required - here looking purely at the navigation and route charge planning.

Set a reminder in my calendar to review the Toyota sub ahead of the 6 month period rolling over to see whether its worth keeping.

The premium versions make sense if you want to replace in the car nav with Apple car play, but like you I’m going to try it for 6 months and see. If Toyota eventually build state of charge into the sat nav and enable charging stop calculations then I want to be able to make use of that.

The thing that is slightly concerning about all of this :

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-63371759

over 25% of EV chargers points faulty in Scotland !

Not sure about England and others ....

There are definitely reliability problems but things are improving and I can’t recommend Zap-Maps enough as an app for finding a working charger. I also try and encourage people to report both successful and unsuccessful charges in the app to build up data for other drivers.
I also make sure I report any faulty charge points to the network.

Sounds good, a bit like the way WAZE navigaton app work

Have a lot to learn about this as never owned either PHEV or EV, the bz4x will be our first

Just watched the programme behind this, Disclosure. Not convinced with their method of coming up with 25% failure rate. They checked the status of 2,000 charge points via the app over a 6 week period and if a charge point was offline they marked it as faulty. That doesn’t seem to account for the fact it could have come back online 5 minutes or 5 days later.
Still doesn’t change the fact there are faults in the networks and it can cause anxiety, but I’ve also pulled into petrol stations with none or only one working pump or where their payment system is down and they can’t take card.

Wheel remedy instruction for USA showing all details.

An awful lot more parts to replace for the US cars :

WHEEL, DISC

BOLT, HUB (FOR AXLE)

VALVE, TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR

does wheel, disc mean just a new wheel or new wheel AND new hub ?
