The boot light in the Yaris is pathertic and probably not even as good as a candle !  So I popped the unit out and secured a SMD cob light to the lens and plugged it in - so much better !

It's bright. I put a led light in the boot, not as bright as yours but it's a straight swap so the plastic cover goes back on. Same for the cabin lights.

Are you sure? My diesel one did!

It should be on the left-side of the boot somewhere... maybe yours does, but the bulb's burnt out as some did have a problem with the switch not working properly so it would just stay on forever until it popped.

It's only a silly little thing but came in surprisingly handy on occasion. It's nice little details like this that I like about japanese-designed things.

Hello Hasan,as Cyker says there is a boot light on the left hand side boot plastic panel, about in the centre of it.

Possibly yours does not, maybe different specs year to year maybe.

My only gripe with it is that there is no switch on the light to be off,on,or on with hatchback open as with interior cabin light.

In summer I like to leave the hatchback open to air out the car, while on the drive in my (or my CCTV) sight, as you see on car dealers forecourts, so this would flatten the Battery over a few hours.

Thought about taking the bulb out, but I am too lazy and afraid of scratching up the panel.

Btw, how's your tsport refurb going?

Hi Paul, no mine doesn't have one unfortunately.  In fact even my old CDX (2001) didn't have one either, just a clip in piece in the side panel which i assume was where it could/should have been.  Might look into a retrofit although that might need a switch in the boot lock.

I've dropped it off at my mums for a while so i can do some more bits on the Corrado.  But the main remaining projects are cv joints (P/S is clicking v slightly, but it seems easier just to change the whole driveshaft), soundproofing the D/S rear quarter, new door Speakers, new undercarpet soundproofing and painting the interior plastics - these have got some scratches on them but i'm struggling to identify a close paint colour match.

Haven't got round to sorting out the exhaust noise yet, though.  I was hoping to use some smoke in the exhaust but might just opt for the soapy water and air test instead.

Other than that most other jobs will need to wait until next summer, like shampooing the headliner and pressure-washing the carpet.

I'm also looking at a different header to squeeze a bit more power out of it but they're silly prices now for a 20 year old car...or maybe i'm just too stingy!

Oh I see Hasan, they must have added them on the 2003 onwards then.

Sounds like you are not too far off with the tsport, what did the previous owner do to the headlining to make it need shampoo?

Did they drive with their feet on it ?😄

Do headers make a big difference then, I am guessing these are exhaust enhancement.

Would you mind posting a pic of yours Paul? Just had a look again and unfortunately nothing there 😞 I'll see if there's a harness and light from a scrappy.

Haha probably! I think its just grubby from previous owners lack of maintenance.

Yes, its basically an exhaust manifold which improves airflow out (ideally you should also have an intake manifold too) and by most counts it seems to improve performance and driveability.

If i find something sensible I'll certainly let you know

Pic of the boot light Hasan?

Of course I will, be tomorrow now though as dark here, and filling and putting the recycling bin out takes me an age.

But I think it's very important that I contribute to the local recycling effort to combat global warming.

Hello Hasan, well here is a pic of the boot light.

Not quite where I remembered it,in the centre of the panel, then again nowadays I often have to sing happy birthday to myself to remember my own name.

That's perfect, many thanks. So the rear of the panel is slightly different, but i guess could be retrofitted easily.  That said, i might wire in a lamp with a local push switch to open when the boot opens.

Haha, you and me both!

You are most welcome Hasan.

If you need any further pics of bits on the tsport, let me know,as long as I can get to them, no problems, easy.

This got me thinking about the 70s again, I can't remember which cars they were on , but there were some with illuminated ash trays.

This will make no sense to younger people who have healthy lifestyles and have not smoked, but back then ashtrays got used and if you drove around to nightclubs and such, these were a very desirable feature.

Times do change however, and now I would imagine an illuminated quinoa and chia seed tray would be more in fashion.

I smoked like a chimney back in the day but never used the ashtray I always flicked ash out of the window followed by the butt, frowned on now but the done thing back then.

I think you would reduce the resale value if you smoked in a car now.
