Where is this oil leaking coming from

Initially thought its a valve cover gasket, but I am not 100% sure. Thoughts?

Clean it up with degreaser, looks like the top left of the cam cover is weeping

Definitely do as @flash22suggests.

Could it be some spillage from an oil change that has simply gathered dirt over many months.

Unrelated but is there a bolt missing on the manifold?

Missing its top heat shield ? Heat shield bolthole ?

I took off the heatshield to trace leak further down. There was some oil residue under the alternator.

Can cam cover seal be replaced?

I am surprised that no one can pinpoint the typical source of leak considering that Rav-4 the most popular car out there, as least in Canada. I searched all over online and no one can give a concrete answer.
