Sat nav on my 2013 Toyota Yaris is constantly buffering and doesn't display. Any suggestions for a fix. Tried main dealer who suggested a map update for £150 !

I like my built in sat-nav but if i had to pay £150 for an update i would be looking at one of these especially the ones with lifetime updates.

Thats the nice part about satnav via a mobile phone updates are free.

The reason i prefer the built in Sat-nav is you don't have to have the phone stuck to the screen on a holder and trailing wires and as phone screens are not designed to be on for hours on end i wonder if it shortens their life.

Google maps looks awful in landscape as the info bar blocks most of the screen and i don't like it in portrait as the display is so small, most sat-navs come with free lifetime updates, when my built in unit becomes so outdated it's a pain to use i will save the £150 (rip off) Toyota charge for the update and get one of the ones in my earlier post.

Hi Max_Headroom

I am afraid you are wrong on some cars the phone uses googles maps buit it displays the infomation on the cars entertainment screen but phone needs to be paired up with the screen.

Some work without wires but for this its a magnetic pick up for charging and bluetooth connection.

Its depends on age of your car and specifcations.

Some come with build in maps from car manufacturers on top of this.

Do you mean Wireless charging a lot of cars still don't come with that as standard, but you can buy the chargers if your phone is compatible.
