well guys - ive finally had enough of the Cynos

Left to go to work today & heard a massive bang - got out & found the entire exhaust bouncing of the rear axel

so just after i got the car back from the last problem - ive got another one... :censor:

Im not sure what im going to get now but im sick of the Cynos. She's a blast to drive but Parts & maintenance are killing me...

Im selling my toyota cynos B japanese import to fund a new car. Ive had the car for about a year now and ive had no problems with it atall.

The car has done 130000 Km which is about 70000 miles but the engine was replaced about a month ago as the old engine was giving me some stick. The new engine has only done about 30000 miles from new. Which is good for a 1991 engine.

The engine is a 5E-FHE which is alot better than the british 5E-FE which are in all the british versions of this car. And there arent many at that. The engine is a 1.5 16 valve and is very nippy. it sits at about 115bhp atm but can be uprated easily.

when the engine was replace so where all the belts in the engine bay. The brake pads have just been replaced for Ferodo pads.

Bad points.

Minor scratches to paint work

paint defect on the roof

power steering pump makes a noise after about 3 hours of driving

exhaust bangs on the axle when theres to many people in the car. - Just put some rubber on the axle to eliminate this.

Both mirrors are damaged - but i will supply a new set to replace them

I'm seriously tempted to get a bike actually....

but not being funny jechto but i paid under a grand for mine - & it cost me a fortune in parts & maintenance.

i'm still undecided as what im doing, but i'm gonna shelve the Cynos for a while. take her off the road & concentrate on differant things.

I feel the same exact way, J. I've stopped modding because the power just isn't there on the paseo. i thought the exhaust would do more than it did, and was dissappointed. I'm taking the money from my hit and run incident and not repairing the car, rather, paying off my parents and beginning to save for something faster. :(

dont forget though lads the Paseo is not a speed machine and was never designed to be. <_<

A 1.5 pushing out 90-95bhp( <_< ) is not designed to race top end cars its a town run around that is good fun down country roads!! :D

i never wanted speed - i liked the Cynos cuz it was different.

but had so many problems with her that im calling it a day for a while.

If you're after speed J then the bike is your best option, take it from me, been riding since I was 16 ;) But they ain't that practical really :( Used to be one of the 'true bikers ride in all weathers' till I realised I was an idiot and cars have heaters :D

As DazH said if you want speed get a bike as like DazH ive been riding since 16 but they dont come with the same creature comforts, i mean where can you put a nodding dog on a bike?!?! :D

Or alternativly a Scooby is the best of both goes like stink and got enough room for everyone.
