Few issues with 2009 yaris

When speeding up at around 60mph the car has  a thudding sound coming from the bonnet, the vibration can also be felt on the steering wheel. I keep my foot down and after a few mins the sound goes.

The care is also going through loads of oil, but i am doin 400 miles a week, how often should that need filling up? I dont think theres a  leak.

Also past few days after dling high speeds when i am slowing down and coasting in neutral the revs go really low and cut out, then struggles slightly to start again but does start every time. Doesn't happen when driving locally.

If it's the 1.33L 1NR-FE, those engines are notorious for burning oil, esp. the early ones. Mine was using something like a litre a month!

Supposedly it's due to weak low-friction piston rings, which were put in to save fuel, but it turns out they lose 'springiness' and stop wiping the oil back off the cylinder bore properly, so it gets burned instead.

Not sure about the thudding sound, could be a wheel balance issue, as when I was using Puncturesafe in my tyres it would develop a very strong resonant vibration around 60mph but be fine anywhere else.

Not sure about the cutting out, may be a fuel trim issue, maybe the excess oil consumption is throwing it off and it takes longer than it should to get back to normal when the car goes back to slower speeds?

Cutting out is likely to be the vvti solenoid aka OCV (oil control valve) check the resistance with a multi meter

have you scanned the car for codes ?

Under no circumstance should you be coasting an MMT or manual car
