Anyone know if the granny charger cable and integrated transformer supplied with the PHEV are waterproof?

I expect all plugs fitted to charge car are waterproof but not always the case with the charger themselve look at its waterproof rating on the device.

I also see people fitting plastic bags over the car plug to keep it dry.

Yes, no need to worry. I've used them and similar longer versions I bought with no problems.
