Toyota avensis strange noise

2014 avensis making a rattling and knocking noise when idiling 160km they thought it cud have been an injector they changed that but no good anyone know?

My 2012 2.0D4D developed similar noise on idle turned out to be the air con clutch , so while idling with air con off turn air con on and if it is the clutch the noise will disappear. Apparently the segments inside break free and rattle.

how many miles on your car my one is 2014 also with 50k on the clock now . if u not bothered with ac maybe good idea putting on a shorter genuine toyota belt do away with all that ac headache thats what im going to do as soon as my ac give bother .

 

Part number 90916-W2034 from your local Toyota dealer fits the 2.0 1AD without AC

NON ac Belt 90916-W2013 comes up as a 7PK1370 (7 rib 1370mm) - Gates 7PK1367
