Before you do anything, you need to confirm that you have a leak and you don't seem to have done that.

Instead of topping it up every three weeks, leave it and see if it keeps dropping or if it has found it's level.

Have just had a close up look at the cam chain cover for sale I linked for you and hadn't noticed before but:-

Even that cover looks as though it's been attacked around the mating faces closest to the water pump housing, looks pitted and eroded to my eye there but elsewhere all the metal looks good. It's likely a common failure point on that area of the chain cover looking at that one.

For now Rhys I would suggest sorting the leak first! No point in spend lots of good cash on an engine that you may end up condemning. Take it one thing at time!

Wynn's do a whole range of engine treatment products and engine flush will be one of them.

That's the stuff Rhys!

Take Stivino's advise though, like he says best to establish if the level is dropping.

Some engines I've seen can be difficult to bleed air out of the cooling system if they've been drained etc. Not sure if your system needs to be purged of air or it bleeds itself and you top up after running.

So i been smelling screenwash lol. Level has raised since i parked on a level ground. No obvious signs of damage to cooling system pipework or clips. Need new rad cover clips though. I will continue to monitor it. Not sure on my system about bleeding cannot remember.
