Previously when I wanted to adjust the clock I would look through the vehicle menus to find the clock settings.  I have now found an easier and quick way to adjust the clock for summer and winter times.

Tap on the clock - this will take you to the clock menu.

Toggle to Off the Daylight Savings Time.

Press the Home button.

Job done, clock is set back one hour.

Ah yes, the perennial (bi-annual actually, lol) issue. Always reminds me of the clock in my second Honda Jazz. The buttons to adjust it were dual function and their time related function was written below them in dark grey. A shame the plastic it was printed on was grey.

My dealer at the time said that staff were given training the day before to ensure they could help us customers.

From what I remember you hold down the CD/AUX and the button below advances the hours, the next one round the minutes. But you can't see the text in that picture - nor can you easily see it 'in the flesh'.

Mind you my washing machine is as bad. The text for the various programmes is in black and the body is dark brown. I'm guessing that the 'arty farty department' didn't want to sully the beauty of the their design by providing useful information.

And not too much hassle for me. Most of my clocks are radio controlled so it's only the car, the microwave and various socket timer controllers that need adjusting.

Although..yet again I'm not sure how to adjust the uWave. Might have to resort to the manual on that one.

My phone and home radio auto adjust the time, which is handy as half the time I'm not sure even which year it is.

The old Yaris however is a bit more complicated, first I have to let my auto mechanical old wris******ch run out of power so that I am not winding the hands backwards, then adjust it according to the radio or phone.

Then after several complicated manoeuvres involving looking for the handbook, getting in the car, and realising I haven't got a clue what I'm doing, prodding various buttons to see if the time display starts flashing.

If I get lucky the time is then correct for a few months ,if not then I am reduced to occasionally glancing at my watch to conduct the important business of the day, such as when to make a cup of tea,or putting the bins out on a Sunday, all old people are utterly obsessed with bins you know.

Am I perhaps overthinking this?

I have noticed on my car that when the ignition is first switched on, the clock shows GMT. The computer, presumably, then has a think and decides that the clock should be advanced one hour, which it then does. I am guessing that when I put the clock back an hour on Sunday, I will be saving the computer some work?

Maybe, it depends how it's implemented. Unlikely to be significant though.

Just to add to my post of last Friday, I have not touched the clock settings and the clock is correct, so it has automatically adjusted itself.

i have found due to advice on this blog , on my previous 2ltr design and my current gr sport to set the clock. is set it for gps and it changes, forget the daylight saving button. my neighbour recently took delivery of new model and was pulling his hair out trying to reset the clock until i told him what to do.

This only applies to newer models.  Mine is 2020 and requires manual selection of daylight Savings Time.
