Hi all,

I have a Corolla 2002 T2 with a rusty rear axle cross menber which needs replacement and the break back plates are shot. A local scrap yard has a 2005 T3 cross member available, does any no whether the T3 rear axle cross member would fit my t2?

Thanks for looking.

As far as I'm aware the differences between the T2 and the T3 were equipment rather than mechanical. However, a 2005 Corolla would be post-facelift, so there may be differences as regards rear cross member .... You need someone to check parts compatibility.

You should be able to check the part numbers yourself at these sites  -

Not seen anything in the Haynes 2002 -2007 manual to suggest the brakes or rear beam axle are any different.

Probablly worth changing the beams mouting bushes if using a second hand one, you can find an extractor /fitting tool on the usual sites.

The beam for Hatchback/Saloon/Tourer E12 Corolla was shared with all Engine/Trim levels from start to end of production and both Japanese & UK production
