DPF needed or not?

My DPF was blocked and my car didn't drive anymore. Finally I found a mechanic that understood the problem, cut my exhaust pipe and cleaned out my DPF and I could drive again. The car was smelly from the moment I had a problem that I couldn't drive due to a blocked DPF. Now the car is smelly and sometimes it has white smoke. Is the DPF really needed?

Cars will work without a DFP but it will fail its next MOT if you cut it out and disregard it.

Have you cooked the hell out of the clean DPF? Hour or two on a higher revs run?

MoT fail if removed.

Car is located in European Georgia, not sure if MoT will fail. The RAV4 is from November 2007. I couldn't find any engine code. Where can I find it?

It is listed as a D4D without DCAT. I found some other codes near VIN ALA30L-AWFGRW

You do not have a DPF then, it will have a catalytic convertor, it will fail emissions if you have them in your country, it may also cause the engine to either under or over fuel

You need to ask about emissions tests in your country. It used to be a common thing around Europe to remove the DPF but gradually countries’ laws were changed to make it illegal / a fail.
Your white smoke might be unburned fuel as it often is with the DCAT but if you don’t have that system then I’m not so sure.
