Yaris Recall XGG60 - Hybrid ECU Software Update

Does anyone have/know any further detail about what this update did/changed if anything?

A software error on some models may when a fault is detected during sudden acceleration cause the car to lose motive power and show warning lights this is an error, the software update ensures the car correctly displays warning lights and goes into limp mode as intended.

I'm pretty sure it is only the Mk4s from July 2020 onwards... (but I'm also sure that @Devon Aygo will correct that if I am wrong)

Looking at your bio, it probably includes yours...

Our car isn’t due to go to the garage until next June. I guess if it’s not a problem at the moment there’s no reason to go earlier!

which is naughty as you have been into a dealer at least twice since these have been live.

Very naughty as we only got the car in August from the Toyota dealer in Wolverhampton!!

Not all the dealers are as diligent as you and PartsKing I'm afraid!

I can at least give Jemca props there, as they were quick to contact me and action the recalls for my Mk4!

Are these things we can leave until it’s next service, the only 2 problems we have are the tpms lamp coming on when the pressure is correct (twice now) and the rattle from the passenger A pillar which I might have fixed.

The rattle occurs when listening to music or even with music off?

The rattle occurred with the radio on or off and was more dependent on road surface. I cut up some small bits of a rubber mat and it seems to have stopped although I have only been out once since.

Can you please take a picture and mark the location where you place de rubber mat pieces?

As you don’t have to remove the A pillar trim it’s easy to do, just do it gently so you don’t mark anything. I just used thin strips of a thin rubber mat.

On another forum I've read about a strange answer for a Battery low problem a new Yaris ( e-call module remaining always on, even with auto closed and parked ). 

Do you know if there's some outstanding TSB about this issue ? ( it seems that can be solved with a FW update, so I don't think it's caused by a defective module but by a SW bug )

Had the software update on my Yaris this afternoon after a call from the  dealer on Wednesday . Took about an hour .I waited and availed myself of the free coffee in the recently refurbished showroom.
