Mine was a gun metal colour 1.1i K reg mk 3 ford fiesta 5 door. ;) <_< :P

I put a silver sunstrip on it and the gear knob thats now in my Paseo i only had it for about 2 months (2weeks of that it was off the road as the garage said it needed a new clutch when we bought it, and it took them that long to do it) whilst i learnt to drive then i got the Paseo.

Much better car!

1963 MG1100 In two tone blue over cream. Previous owner had modified the floorpan with a centre punch to let the water out. I fitted it with twin Paddy Hopkirk chrome pancake filters. Think they made it sound faster and go slower.

It was a close thing - I almost imported a left hook Smart from France  , but common sense prevailed...

Austin Allegro, L reg which I had in the mid 80’s.

Biggest pile of crap known to man. I spent more times pushing it than driving it.

I vowed never to buy a British car again

did it have the sqaure steering wheel

Yes it did... which I still have somewhere!

I swapped it for a leather covered shirt button (not saying the steering wheel was small!!)

Mine was a mk1 Fiesta.

I wanted an Audi Quattro but my dad said I was likely to crash my first car (being an enthusiastic 17 year old) so I should have something cheap to repair.

Even though I paid for the car and insurance myself, I decided that my dad was talking sense and so I got the fiesta.

I didn't have a crash.

Back in 2000 when I was 17 my first car was a 1997 2.0 Nissan Primera, lovely car, in a lot of respects better than the Avensis I have now apart from it being a manual rather than the Avensis which is an automatic.

Rusty orange vauxhall chevette!! It had a short gear knob so felt dead racy but still looked like a nail. I loved that car!
