Hi

I have a 2007 avensis, 1.6litre engine, I have the vehicle identification number, but I don't know which variant of the avensis I have for insuring it.

Can anyone help me with this, thanks

When you enter the registration number into the box, they will know what model they are dealing with.

As Stivino already stated in his reply, the registration number should be enough. Most people don't know or care about the model number. Some in the UK did have trim level - T2, T3, TS/TX or TR.

In Toyota like some sites when getting to the technical specs for your car, there are two - ZZT250R-AEMNKW denotes entry level sedan, and ZZT250R-ALMNKW entry level liftback (hatchback). Both are 1.6 litre engines (ZZ = 3ZZFE), T250 being the second generation model with that engine, and R for right hand drive. There is a label in the door or door frame with these details and even the colour code.

I always state T25 (Mk2) or T27 (Mk3) on this forum. A few years back (2016), I went to get brake parts for a local factor and gave the registration number - **58***. My car is a '58 plate T27 Tourer. The sales person gave me parts for the previous model, because his info was not up to date. When we took the parts back he was stubborn thinking my car was a Mk2 T25 Avensis, but a colleague took over and understood the situation when we showed info, plus photo of the car. I had a mechanic friend with me who knew the staff and that helped. So long as the shop or insurance have the latest info, there should be no problems identifying your car.

I to have had parts identification problems when buying for my T 27. The registration number would raise the wrong parts. Vin number was successful and raised the correct parts.
