aygo mk1 brake fluid reservoir cap

hi, 

 

im having a hard time opening the brake fluid reservoir cap. how do you open it? sounds stupid i know

I don't have an Aygo, but I don't think the caps vary much between cars 

If it is a threaded type then maybe water pump pliers,if it has been screwed on too tight.

If it is the push down and twist type ,then that explains itself ,if you had not realised the type.

If neither helps,then can you do a pic of it for others who will probably have an answer for you.

I thought it was the push and twist but not getting any luck.

It looks like a threaded type, so left hand on the reservoir to hold it steady, right hand on the cap , and twist anti clockwise.

If you do have to use water pump pliers, wrap a bit of cloth round the cap to minimise chewing it up.

(Once you are certain it is that type,of course)

Turns out, keeping the engine warm helped out alot, you just unscrew it anti-clockwise. Thanks everyone.
