I’ve just acquired an 05 RAV4 , this replaced an 04 Freelander I’ve previously owned.

 

In lots of ways the RAV4 is better, but I’m struggling to accept the high revs at startup for a few minutes. There must be a fix, but I’m not able to find a definitive answer. There must be one, whether mechanical or ecu tweaking 🥺. Other than that the machine’s good.

Welcome David all the Toyotas seem to idle to fast from cold I had a 1998 rav 4 2.0 GX and that you used to idle at nearly 2000rpm from cold until the engine warmed up even the corolla idles at approx 1200 rpm even when it’s hot.
