A light-hearted thread to share the interesting things you may have done with your bZ4x.

I'll start - I turned my driveway into a Toyota power couple.

Gave it its first clean at the weekend.

You really notice the details when cleaning a car. I'm really pleased with the styling and think it looks much better in reality than online pics do it justice.

Looks like your bz4x quite enjoying too 😊

And agree with you, exterior design is flawless!

I pulled the parcel tray fully out and latched it in place, as the dealership had left it in a retracted state. This appears to have reduced the road noise somewhat.

Much improved horn. If you made those changes in the UK, you'd probably have the insurance company breathing down your neck!

When you take out an insurance policy, at least here in the UK, a question they always ask is has the car has been modified in any way from its factory specification. If you made the mods prior to insuring, and they were related to safety features such as the mirror or horn, I imagine that could lead to a barrage of further questions and - possibly - an increase in premium. These guys are naturally risk-averse. On the other hand, if you made the mods after taking out the policy, you should inform the insurer straight away. They will use any excuse not to pay out in the event of a claim and could argue that the insurance was void.

To add, there is no such thing as an MOT in the US. Various a bit state by state, but in general "anything goes" literally ....

The balckvue always look good in any car I've seen them in. Smart.

I've just gone with two Garmin dashcams with the wiring hidden behind the seals, seats and headlining with both powered by the 12v in the front- works well.

I think the standard horn is good. But then, the Supra has the weakest horn, anything would sound good.

I assume an easy install?

Yes the horns are plug and play.  Uses the factory mounting and plug.  I only have to loosen the bracket 45 degrees so the harness doesn’t strain.

Turn bracket 45 degrees on both so harness don’t get strained.

Yes each State have different procedures.  Where I’m at, a safety inspection is only done one time when the car is bought new or used.  We hve emissions inspection every 2 yrs but that’s a joke of a test.  They plug in a tester on the obd2 port and if the car doesn’t have error code, it passes.

Today, after spending a few weeks reading all the threads, posts and social media about BZ4X range and efficiency I made the decision to drive mine like a car not a maths challenge 😉

I turned the A/C onto auto, car seat and steering wheel heating on and accelerated out of traffic lights.

The 14 mile commute in Nottingham rush hour traffic took 48 minutes and showed 2.8 miles/KWH.

Really enjoyed the drive and the car and it was good not to worry about the range and efficiency.

Installed illuminated window switches that I bought from Amazon that were originally for my 2021 Rav4 Prime.  Sold the Prime earlier this year and removed the switches before selling.

These look good. The cabin would benefit from some more passive illumination.

It’s a pity the door locking/unlocking switches aren’t illuminated by default. I felt like a right lemon the other night when I pulled up outside my friends’ house and they couldn’t get in because of locked doors. I can do it in the dark by touch now - find the mirror control, lock button in front of that has raised bumps, unlock button is smooth. Not the greatest of ergonomics.

Was this a difficult job. I have wondered about doing mine as the lack of light is really annoying.
