Thoughts on BZ Interior from a Corolla TS Owner

Recommended Posts

Posted

I had my Corolla in the dealer for its 2nd service today (Johnson’s Toyota - Liverpool) and had the opportunity to have a sit in a new BZ4X.

For anyone who’s interested here’s my thoughts on how the BZ compares with the Corolla.

- the dashboard feels further away and creates a sense of spaciousness which the Corolla can’t match. Swathes of gloss black plastic between the front seats looks great, but will inevitably need lots of dusting (just like Corolla).

- cloth dash top is nice to touch, but not as squishy as a Corolla.

- the drivers display is set high, and although has seen some press criticism for clashing with the steering wheel, was fine for me (6ft 1in).

- seats were usual Toyota - very comfortable

- interior height seems similar to Corolla, which was a disappointment to me. I’ve been critical of headroom in the rear for my Corolla TS, the BZ4 is pretty much exactly the same, which I was disappointed with. Leg room was excellent though.

all in all, it’s a nice proposition, if not for the taller gent. More like a high up Corolla, than a RAV4 (now that is spacious!)
