Insurance cost will depend on various factors - driving & claims history, occupation, postcode, business use, etc.

Who knows what insurance will cost. Do online quotes from the usual places like compare the market.

Service, I understand fix pricing are:

Intermediate 220

Full 300

Intermediate 220

No point in asking here; Just go to compare the market, confused etc, put your and the car's details in and see what they say. You'll need to do it anyway so get a head start, just say you havent bought the car yet or you got it today - you can change it later.

Some, like Direct Line and Toyota Insurance, you'll need to phone directly, but unless you're lucky and catch them at the right time they tend to be one of the most expensive!

For the servicing, if your dealer adheres to the fixed price servicing, then what Mojo said! Otherwise you'll have to check with them.

I would imagine Toyota insurance is very expensive ?

Would be interested to see how it compares Irshad with your other quotes 👍

They usually are, but sometimes they're a lot cheaper, so I still give them a go sometimes.

All depends on people's circumstances and whether you're the category of customer they want to insure - if you're not within their target group they will over quote to discourage you. No different to any other insurer.

I honestly think whatever algorithm they use is in backwards to everyone elses, as whenever everyone else gives me stupid quotes they give me a very reasonable quote, but when everyone else gives me a reasonable quote, they give me a bat-guano insane quote

A few years back, I purchased an Audi A2 which replaced my Audi A3.  Did the usual and updated my insurance company and awaited their fee for the admin cost.  To my great surprise the broker said that the insurance company would not insure me.  I had only taken out the insurance 2 months previously and thought the transfer would be straightforward.  He couldn’t give a reason for this decision but stated that sometimes this happens for no apparent reason.  I immediately cancelled the insurance and claimed back the unused portion of the cover.  On taking out insurance with a new company I enquired if there were any problems with my personal status but no problems were identified.  I found my old insurance company’s decision strange as I have never made a claim in over 44 years  of driving and owning cars.  I have no convictions and never incurred any penalty points and neither has my wife.  Maybe Dan@adrianflux could advise.

I know eSure won't insure most Audis as they consider them high risk

When I took delivery of my new RAV4 last year I had the Toyota insurance free couple of days drive away insurance. They gave me a quote for the RAV4 and it was twice the price of my existing Saga insurance, so I said thank you, but no thanks 😃

Is this because Audi do not fit indicators to their cars?

Well, either that or they stop working very quickly after purchase.

I thought it was BMWs that had the optional indicator pack!

It is funny though,a roundabout near where I live, only a couple of hundred yards away, which I negotiate often, has 4 exits.

I do ,as a bit of a hobby,(yes nothing better to do) notice which makes of car do not signal most often, causing drivers waiting to join the roundabout to wait while guessing which way these walk offs are going to go.

It would be unfair to generalise as I am only on it an hour or so a week maybe.

But,it is usually a mix of transit pick ups with plywood sides, yes, newish Audis and BMW s, and a strange mix of ancient hatchbacks (I drive an ancient hatchback too) driven by snaggletooth throwbacks who seem to have missed out on the gene pool, they have very strange facial expressions when on the roundabout.

Rarely though, do I see a Toyota being driven with this moronic disregard for other drivers.

Maybe this says something about drivers who choose Toyotas, I hope so.

I used to enjoy driving my MX-5 with the roof down along the beautiful country roads, until when I looked in my mirror to see the inevitable BMW/Audi sitting an inch from my rear end. Always guaranteed to ruin a pleasant drive in the country, and they seem to appear from nowhere 😃

I agree. When this happens to me, I usually slow down slightly and ignore them. They tend to either give up and back off, or overtake at the earliest inconvenience

Hi Bob, I was speaking to a retired traffic cop who's very much into caravanning and tows it all over the place. I had been thinking of buying a small caravan but told him I was concerned about holding up the traffic behind me especially on country roads, as I've never towed a caravan before.

He said that like you if someone drives too close to him he just slows down and leaves it up to them 👍

My wife and I have been great supporters of the Audi brand and regularly posted comments on the Audi Owners Club.  She was was known as T.T. (Tailgate Tina) and I used the name N.I.T.O.M. (Never Indicate To Other Motorists). We spent our honeymoon at the Spaghetti Junction, Birmingham, carrying out aggressive lane changing manoeuvres without signalling and trying to drive as close as possible behind non Audi drivers.  Although my wife is a more assertive driver than myself, she does admit that she used to be nervous about parking her car until discovering  the art in using 2 parking bays at supermarkets and public car parks.  When she buys a new car, she insists that all indicator bulbs are removed at the PDI stage and thereafter installed within the vehicle to create a more ambient atmosphere.  This is done to accentuate the big beat sound on her 20 speaker Hi Fi system.  She also loves to remove the baffles from the silencer in the exhaust system to warn pedestrians of her approach.

Caring for the environment and being great fans of Greta Thunberg, we decided to only having one car in the family as opposed to two.  Initially, we wanted a fully electric car but after discovering that our extension lead wasn’t long enough to reach a socket in our penthouse flat, the only sensible choice was a self charging hybrid car.  Our Yaris Cross is supposed to arrive around 16 December which is quite handy as we are due to complete the  Accredited Anger Management Course on 15 December.  This has been a tough course but due to one to one counselling and emergency intervention procedures we are confident that we can achieve the 39% pass rate requirement.

It’s been lovely chatting to the Toyota members on a wide variety of subjects but we were slightly miffed when grouped alongside BMW drivers in one of the posts.  For the record, according to a recent survey, BMW drivers are officially the worst drivers in the world with a 40% lead. Audi nutcases only account for 14.1% which shows we really are compassionate and friendly people.

Really enjoying this forum and look forward to becoming a Toyota owner next month.

not sure its the vehicle or the person driving the vehicle to be the troublesome. according to me its the driver. irrespective of brands of vehicle i had issues with tailgating all brands .not just BMW driver
