Installing After market Radio / revers camera on Toyota Corolla Verso SR 2008

Hi,

I am trying to install a Chinese aftermarket radio and reverse camera in my 2008 Corolla Verso SR.

I have managed to install the radio which is working.

However, I have learnt that for the camera to work, I need to connect the black wire on the power cable to the reverse wire in the lights panel at the back of the car.

Can someone tell me what the colour of the reverse  wire is?

Also can someone tell tell me the colour of the steering wheel control wires  on the 2008 verso.

Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks

What connectors do/did you have in the car, 20 pin or 24 pin

if you have a grey 5 pin you have a reverse signal

It is a 20 Pin.

Where is this Grey 5 Pin located?

That is the only one.

Do you know the colour of the reverse wire either behind the glove box or where the  actual reverse light is?

It should be pink, you can verify it with a meter

Ok, thanks, will try this

What about the steering wheel controls? I have connected the wires on the harness to 6,7 & 8  on the 20 pin in the car, but it is still not working?

What do the destructions say i can't see your wiring diagram, some of these are self learning/need programming others come with an adapter some you need to supply your own adapter

Edit. Found it is a Chinese $100 unit, mp-362 - you will find a menu in the settings to program the controls

It is clearer if you double click on the image.

It came with  a manual and I have tried my best to connect the harness to what I believe is the SWC wires from the Verso without much luck

its 3 wires SW1, SW2 and SWG

SWG need to be wired to ground

the pic wasn't working earlier, but it is now

Ok, what I have done is  connected No16 (Black ground wire) to the the black wire from the harness.

Also I have connected No 11 (Brown brake wire) to what I believe is the SWG wire.

What do I do with the brown brake wire?

brake is hand brake - you connect it to the hand brake or ground it

20 Pin - Radio

SW1 - Brown/Black

SW2 - Orange/Black

SWG - Black (ground)

Ok, thanks, so the above must be connected to wires 6, 7 & 8 on the white 20 pin plug in the car.

I got a 2007 verso before. I don’t know is there any wire for reverse on the plug. Because that car don’t have reverse cam. I did wire the reverse light wire from rear to stereo head. Because I added the reverse cam ourself. Already need to wire that video cable. So we add one more cable from reverse light. Almost same workload.

Thanks, Flash22, my steering wheel controls now work. Very much appreciated. The only small problem is I get a whining noise from the head unit when I drive, but the noise stops when the car is stationary even with the head unit on.

I will get on to the camera within the next few days.
