Just ran over a freaking nail! Woluldnt mind so much but the tyre is a brand spankin new Michelin one. :censor: :crybaby: :ffs:

Hopefully will be able to have it repaired cheaply so I dont have to spend £40 odd on a new tyre! Any of you guys no if this is poss?

Been there, done that, got the tea shirt.

Brand new Continental eco tyre, 40 miles, horse shoe nail straight through it = one completly wrecked tyre & £50 down the drain :angry:

Gutted. :crybaby: That happened to the missus a few weeks ago, a brand new Continental. A screw just on the wall, she had to have it sent away to be repaired 'cos the garage couldn't do it, still cost £25 for a repair. I just guess it depends where and how big the whole is.

When I got a nail in mine, new tyre required...

Apparantly nails in some parts of the tyres should not be repaired...

anywhere near sidewall ...new tyre...

I spose some places will give you <sharp intake of breath>

"Well I could repair tyre there mate, but it could blow at any time.."

then make you buy new one when not needed...

...check out tyre net sites on punctures...try www.theaa.com, best to go armed with info so you don't get ripped off....

Thanx for the help guys!

just managed to get it repaired for a tenner in my local garage. He told me that he never really has any problems repairing the punctures! I guess I was lucky it wasnt near the wall! :rolleyes: Ida been WELL ****** to hav 2 buy a new one!

if its gone into the tread and preferable at rightangles then it can be repaired easy

if its come through the tyre wall then its scrap basically
