Hello everyone- I have a 05 Corolla recently inherited.

I’m wondering just after confirmation - is the correct oil grade 5w30 full synthetic?

Also I have the standard car stereo and I’m wondering about bringing it in line and getting something with Apple Car Play, how do I find out which stereos would be compatible? Which size etc

thanks all!

Yes 5W-30 - but Toyota don't specify either semi or full synthetic.

Thank you! Presumably then either would be ok? Bit of a minefield!

Hi,

Assume yours is a petrol model ?  if so it need around 4.2 ltrs to do a change, some like Castrol only supply theirs in 4 ltr bottles so its quiet expensive to buy that extra 1 ltr.

Comma 5W-30 fully synthetic comes in 5 ltr bottles and is reasonably priced , we  have used it for many years.

Hi Ian,

On the subject  of engine oil, I've just done an oil and filter change on my partners Citroen C1 (Aygo) which is also recommended to use 5w-30. I purchased 5L's of Mannol 5w-30 fully synthetic long life low saps oil for £21.50.

If your on fixed interval servicing you don't need a low saps high spec oil but if it's cheaper than lower! spec'd oils why not use it!  It more than does the job and will be more friendly to your cat.
