Avensis Air-Con Controls

I have a 2010 Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D. The manual air con control for the driver's side of the vehicle doesn't always work properly. If I try to turn up the temperature on the driver's side, or dual control using the driver's side control, the temperature will skip backwards. The passenger side control works perfectly well on it's own, but the driver's side doesn't. Any suggestions?
