Disable auto door lock when door not opened

Hi

I've had my Yaris Hybrid for 2 years now.  Last month stupid here left the side lights on and flattened the Battery.  Sorted that out with jump leads, but since then the auto door lock feature has changed.

I have a smart entry system.  If I unlock the door with the fob, then don't open the door within a few seconds, the door re-locks.  I'm disabled and it can take me a little while to get to the car and open the door, especially if I'm carrying shopping and am juggling that with my crutches.  I want to disable the feature of door auto lock if not opened, or at least extend the time the door auto locks again if not opened.

I don't want to be challenged on why I need this.  Please just accept that it would make my life easier.

It must be do-able to change the setting, as before the Battery went flat and the electronics all reset themselves the car didn't used to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I believe these settings are possible to change via car set up menu on the info screen but if not then can be fine via obd 2 port with adapter or scan tool. I use Carista obd 2 scanner and change to my preferences. The scanner is also good for checking and deleting engine fault codes or other issues with the car if anything happens. Here is the gadget CARISTA OBD2 bluetooth Scanner and App: Diagnostics, Customizations, Service Procedures and Live Data for your VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Mini https://amzn.eu/d/5bXl3b8

According to the manual for the MK3 this time can only be changed by dealer, etc, (ie. With special tools as in post above).

But the default is 30 seconds and the only other options are 60 and 120 seconds. If by

you mean 30 seconds or so, then the system must have previously been programmed to one of the longer ones, which has now reset back to the default 30.

If you really mean 'a few' as in less than 10 then there is something wrong.

In either case I'd see your dealer. If it is just the setting then as you are disabled I'd hope they'd reset it for you foc. (I imagine they must have set it up originally.)

Thanks for the replies Tony and Mike.  Just so long as I know I can't do it myself (nothing on the info screen) I'll pop it into the dealer who is brilliant (shout out to Waltons in Penrith) and I know won't charge me and ask them to sort it.
