water in rear footwell.

We have a 2002 Yaris which has just started accumulating water in LH rear footwell.

When the car is parked no water is visible in rear.

However, when car is used and water is on the road water accumulates.

Can't see any holes or corrosion when carpets lifted.

Has anyone had the same problem?

If it's just a fair bit of water and not loads, it may be just the door seal - I had this with my old Mk1 where, for some reason, water tended to gather in the top channel of the door seal instead of draining down, and when I opened the rear doors after it rained, it would fall into the car onto the rear mats.

If this only happens when it's rained and the car's been stationary, but almost never if it's raining while you're driving and then stop and open the door, I reckon that's what it is... (When moving there is enough movement to get the water to drain down, but if its stationary the water builds up for some reason; This is my theory at least!)

A couple of items that have been mentioned previously on the forum and it is worth checking.

1.It could be that the plastic liner under the door card is damaged, thus allowing water that falls on the window to enter the car.
Remove the card and check the condition of the plastic sheet.
2.There is a large sealing washer in the floor. If displaced, water enters from underneath...
Hope this helps
