I don't know if this is normal but it's begining to annoy me. Now the colder/wetter weather is here i'm starting to notice that when i wind my window up and down it doesn't clear the water from it, this is happening to both front windows. The passenger side used to clear but now the same thing is happening there. It's very frustrating when you can't see out because of the water and you have to open the window to see the traffic at junctions.

Never had this issue on any other car i've owned. Is there something i'm missing here or is this normal? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Denise have you tried Rain X it is really good as a water repellent and water just runs off the glass. Hope this helps. 😊

Those rubber blades with a handle on are cheap and useful for swishing water off, also frost, but not ice ice baby, I mean maybe.

I have found the same on several Toyota models and I go for the safe option and use the electric wind down function. Better safe than sorry.

Our Corolla does the same (as did my previous Skoda Octavia). Our Yaris clears the windows when you drop them.

Could it be that the Corolla is available with acoustic side glass which if thicker so on standard models the rubbers don't fit as tight?

I don’t think this is the reason. They simply has always been like that. Very few cars can clean side windows well.

Isn't the glass curved and with a varying profile on a lot of modern cars.

To get a variable profile panel to move up and down and yet remain in the same 'position' relative to the fixed lower edge seal would be very difficult I imagine.

Smaller windows (smaller cars) and less curved glass and doors make it easier. Old cars had essentially flat glass that just moved up and down.
