Yaris Cross Hybrid AWD 2022 - water leak and corrosion

I live in Spain and this car is Spanish registered.  The car is always parked on the level and it almost never rains here, but some time in the last year, or perhaps when the car was being built, fluid has puddled at the rear of the boot floor and it appears that corrosion has started.  The Spanish dealer maintains that there is no water leak at the tailgate and that it is not corrosion but instead resin that has puddled during manufacture, however the dealer is not prepared to put that in writing or to raise a warranty claim.  My reaction was to ask whether they think my head zips up the back.  Has anyone else experienced a leak or corrosion like this?  Their complacency doesn't quite match up to the consequences of water getting into the electronics and power cabling to the rear motor in the same area, there is a faint water mark next to that in the first image.

Is the car a 2021 as per your post or a 2022 as per your profile??

Built in 2021, delivered in 2022.  Current models are identical.

Certainly looks like residue of some kind rather than water. 

It looks a bit like a Waxoyl corrosion inhibitor with too much applied.  Does it have a waxy feel if you scrape it with your thumb nail. 

As for your car, delivered on 2022 it is still MY21.  The next will be MY23.

Pictures too small to judge but it doesn’t look like rust. You can try to clean it with wet microfibre cloth and multipurpose cleaner or glass cleaner and see if it goes away. If not you can try with tar and glue remover which if it’s residue from any rust treatment should go away. If it’s rust you may try rust converter , take pictures before and after cleaning and if is a rust and changes it’s colour this car should be repaired under warranty no questions. 
For the cables no need to worry, these are water tight. Very important to trace and find the water leak if there are any at all.

I'd wipe it with a cloth and water. If it goes, then it's water based, if it doesn't, then it's something else.

If it’s just the stain you’re worried about, don’t.  I’ve definitely seen that in brand new vehicles and online reviews.  Fairly sure you can see it SDA Dan’s review.   16:55 here;

The dealer already told you this is a resin that has puddled during manufacture. It's not corrosion.

Next time please upload bigger pictures.

Looks similar to the residue another member found around the boot hinges.

I can’t imagine that rust would form like that that on top of a primed and painted surface. Just give a wipe with a damp cloth if the tide marks disappear immediately then it’s likely water, if it doesn’t disappear then it’s likely a sealant residue. As a previous poster advised does it have a waxy sticky feel, does it scrape off with a thumbnail. ??.

Dealers have nothing to lose on repair issues needed under warranty.

It’s not rust, it’s a tacky substance if anything I’d say it’s corrosion inhibitor.

This one looks like corrosion to me. Perhaps the OP was too but early stage and made it look like glue or something, or the picture too small to see it.  There are quite few people with later Toyota cars with corrosion issues particularly on cars built during lock downs. They also had corrosion on rear hatch hinges and door shuts , bad one and obvious. Latest cars I did checked with the dealer had extra padding on the hinges, something that previous models didn’t have. 
You can check this rubber plug if placed securely, take it off and look for corrosion on the edge of the whole, but this looks like the process started from under the car or from inside the metal list. They should fix it for you but come on, brand new car, really bad reputation.

It isn’t corrosion.  They all have it in the boot from new.

It's in the middle section of the panel (lowest point) and there are defined tidemarks in that area only - the mounds look like rust under the paint to me, it needs further investigation

According to the picture, it doesn't look like water, you can try wiping it with detergent to see if it goes away
