Panoramic roof problems

Hi all, just started to get drips from the hinge on the sun visor. When I looked into this I found it was from condensation from the panoramic roof. Does anyone have any advice as to how to stop this?

When I first got the car it was leaking from the panoramic roof but the garage revealed it.

Are panoramic roofs of any use? Or just a continual source of aggrivation.

Any openings on any car are susceptible to leakages, the panoramic roofs because of its position on the car are more vulnerable than most. Cars with panoramic roofs are almost bound to give trouble sooner or later in my experience. Of course this is just my humble opinion.

it's under warranty, let the dealer sort it, as its a defect - it may need the glass to come off and be resealed

Thanks for replies, but this is not a leak, it is a condensation problem brought on by ice on the roof, both outside and now inside. This when the car heats up the condensation turns from ice to rain on me. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this?😅

ah, in that case set the recirc to air on the heater controls that will allow the car to breath - Also, don't leave anything damp or wet in the car

If it's a Mk4 yaris make sure the drain plugs have been removed from the doors and tail gate

Anyone with panoramic glass roof will experience that. I have non in my car but have two in my house and yes, they are dripping water from condensation. There is no other option but to wipe it.
I personally do not like any glass roofs in cars because of that reason, and it seems Toyota every model with these has its own problems, condensation, rattling, water leaks. No glass, no problem people are saying. 👍

I second the need do dehumidify the car; I used to get water on the inside of windows and the sunroof in my Mk1, but after I started leaving silica gel bags all over the car I never had the problem again.

Some people say a bowl of uncooked rice or dry coffee grounds can have a similar effect, and I know Robert Dyers sells what's basically a giant ball full of silica gel beads that also acts as a dehumidifier.

This is why I don't like panoramic roofs tho' - With a proper sunroof there is a drainage channel all the way round, specifically to stop leaks and condensation dripping into the car, but panoramics don't seem to have such a thing, presumably because they don't open it's assumed it's not needed...

Easiest way to dehumidify a car is put the aircon on same as the windscreen.  I agree with Tony, any glass surface that’s cold on one side and warm on the other will get condensation on it.  Straight forward physics.  Shutting the blind will help reduce it.
