no cd slot.

you need to upload from your phone Spotify, it play automatic when you turn the car on.

great 10000 times better then cd.

you have to replace also all the Speakers if you like to listen with hi-end quality or so.

me too.

i was also very very disappointed after buying my avensis and find out there is no CD.

my friend show me free Spotify download it to my phone.

connect the phone to the car.

ones you wrote in the Spotify 80' list . next time you go to the car turn the car ON, the car media automatic recognize your phone Spotify and play it automatically, you don't need to do a thing, only have your phone with you that's it, play automatically and you can control t from the starring wheel.

no talking, only good music.

The 2018 Avensis had a totally different head unit (Touch 2) to a 2005 Avensis.

I had a 2006 rav 4 T180 and the CD player was behind the front of the head unit from memory you pressed a button and the front flipped open (on a motor I think ) which revealed the CD player and a slot for the sat nav dvd not sure if the 2005 avensis T4 might be the same.

like you I did not think it had a CD player until I found the front of the head unit flipped open.

cost nothing you need to find free one.

i have more then 700cd's at my house, last car has around 100cd's in it.

ones you try Spotify in your car, there is no going back to cdp, it also learn by the time the music you like and play things randomatically.

thanks for the info guys. not checked replies since i wrote this. OK, so, i just literally put spotify on when i start my car/radio system up and it will pick up the signal from my phone and do i then follow a step of instructions? Thanks for all your help guys.

The other thing about this car is, it's alot more expensive to insure than my previous 2005 Toyota Avensis T3-S. Is this because it's a slightly newer model?

IIRC T4 Avensis has HDD (hard disc drive) navigation this also allows you to rip CDs onto the HDD, by pressing the Eject close button the screen can be opened and CDs inserted for playback or ripping to HDD

The cost of car insurance has increased significantly over the past year, so that may be what you are seeing, rather than an increase due to having a newer Avensis. Or it could be a combination of both.

Do you need a permanent data connection to obtain Spotify

I was looking at the insurance groups and i didn't realise they have numbers pertaining to the cost of the insurance and car model. So, my older avensis was 16e and alot cheaper at 31 pounds or less a month and this 2007 one is 19e which is at 80 pounds a month now, the cheapest i can find. I tried the 'miles cheaper' company with the mileage box but i'm doing around 17000 miles a year, so, pointless really. If i do 1000 m pa, then it's 28 pounds  a month lol
