Also i got to work today and didnt realise but one of my back windows was half way down, id have known it was down when i was driving so must have happened when i parked. V odd as i didnt open it... but lucky somone spotted it, what could have happened? im obsessed with making sure they are shut so v odd... could it be electrical? or something on my keys? but id have thought with the key it would have done all of them not just one

has this happened to anyone else?

any help greatly appreciated thank you so much

Not sure Claire, maybe frost on your windshield obscuring the anti collision camera. As for the window it’s hard to say what occurred, monitor it and see if it happens again and as it’s a new car and under warranty a trip to the dealership will be your next port of call.

it's the pre collision, when it below a certain temperature it will turn its self off and turns on its own heater, TBH you need to let the car warm up and make sure the glass is clear - there are too many people on the road that don't clear the snow or ice off their cars properly

does the icon have rear electric windows ? If so you may have hit the switch, what is easily done

About half way rear window,

- this can happen when you open and then trying to close the window but for some reason window was under certain load for example dirt or ice built on it or the seal that clamp the window and make it difficult to go up.
For a safety reasons the window mechanisms can detect load  and reaction is stop closing the window immediately and lower it back to the half at least. This is to prevent someone likely children get there heads compressed between window and the frame. To close just pull and hold the window switch again , it may require more than once to do it.
Happens to me often when the car is dirty.
Make sure you do visual inspection all windows are shut before you leave the car and will not have any problems in the future.
Enjoy your Toyota hybrid 👍

OP have you got the facility on YC where you hold the unlock button on the fob and the windows open?  Its strange that you only found one window open.

I've done this accidentally on my Mk4 and not noticed until my neighbour's son, who had gone outside for a smoke, knocked on my door and told me. It was chucking it down at the time so quiiite a lot of rain had gotten in the car. I was very lucky I'd had the supagard applied a few weeks prior as it stopped the water soaking into the seats, and I was also very glad I had the rubber mats!

Still not sure how it happened, but I think I'd accidentally pressed one of the window switches when getting out, as the windows are still powered for a short time after the car is turned off, and as they're single touch it must have had just enough time to wind almost all the way down before the power was cut!

How many people will admit going out and checking their windows after reading this?

Windows switch becomes inactive as soon as the door is open, perhaps you may just pressed the switch while being pulling the door handle, or as I mentioned before I’d you had lowered down and try to close it afterwards.

I didn't!

(But I may have looked out the window while holding the remote lock button just to make sure they were closed... :whistling1: )

Possibly! It's still a mystery as I haven't done it since! At least as far as I know...!
