Hi all!

Just collected my 71 reg TS Trek edition today and I am very impressed. Very refined and comfortable, my first drive home felt like I’ve driven it for ages. Except for some features like the Bowers & Wilkins system, I can’t say I will miss my previous Volvo S90 Inscription 🙂

I have 2 questions concerning the in-car entertainment system. Have read the manual but can’t seem to find anything obvious.

Apple CarPlay : The car seem to have wireless CarPlay which is great! However I can’t seem to work out how to toggle it back to the normal car display. Only way to achieve this is to turn off bluetooth on my phone.

Audio settings : I also can’t seem to find anywhere to adjust audio settings (treble/mid/bass and front/rear balance). Is this adjustable?

Hi and welcome.
Great choice for a Corolla, probably the best of all 👍

I can’t help with any of your questions as I haven’t got a Corolla yet but if I am about to by estate likely to be a trek or design👌

Others will get in touch about your enquiries soon, until  then enjoy your new car 🚙

Cheers! It’s my first estate and I am loving it. The extra height does make it really comfortable.

I thought the Home button did that but I could be wrong!

The sound settings are in the headunit's Setup menu under Audio, and you can set treble, base, balance, fade etc. (This is assuming you have the older headunit that is similar to the one in my Yaris and not the newer one!). You might need to scroll around as it doesn't always make it obvious that you can scroll in places.

The headunit manual is, for some weird reason, separate from the main manual, but you can download them from https://www.toyota.co.uk/customer/manuals and I think it's either called multimedia or navigation

Thanks! Pressing Home in CarPlay mode doesn’t return to Toyota’s Home Screen, unfortunately. Only way to turn off CarPlay is via the phone. No biggie but would be great if I can do this with the car’s interface.

Found the sound settings for DAB and FM and found that it’s customised for each.
However I cannot find this setting in CarPlay mode. Is this adjusted via the bluetooth devices mode?

Oh sorry I misunderstood... From what I understand CarPlay overrides the headunit so all settings need to be set on the phone...? I could be wrong tho...

No worries 🙂 Haven’t found anything on my phone to adjust bass/mid/treble etc so perhaps sound settings are not available in CarPlay mode.

To get back to the Toyota side of the ICE when in ACP or AA go to the app selection page and pick the Toyota symbol, page 120 of manual attached.

For audio settings you need to be in the Toyota side of the ICE from the side menu select music then the 3 spots upper RHS of screen, page 85 of manual attached.

Many thanks for this! Great to know there is a way to toggle between CarPlay and Toyota ICE without having to use my phone 🙂

That is weird, pressing the home button works in my car.

Apologies, I've found the menu to adjust audio settings for CarPlay. I just needed to wait a while for it to pop out.

For factory Speakers I am impressed by the sound quality. Lacking in lower end and clarity can be better but I don't mind it at all. Listening to music on Spotify via CarPlay is good, and I can easily toggle to DAB via the button on the steering wheel.

Icon models don't have the Smart Media so you still have physical buttons. Higher grades have lost the buttons.
