Automatic AC with defogger.

Hi there.

Could someone confirm, please that when I have air outlet settings in the windshield defogger or feet and the windshield defogger after turning the fan speed, the AC light comes on? Can't find anything in the manual about this behaviour. My car, Aygo X Cross, is with manual air conditioning system. Thanks

Yes it uses the a/c to demist the screen with cars with auto a/c aka climate control

Mitsubushi colt used to do that too... so it's an old idea.

It does a good quick job of clearing the windscreen 👏.

Air conditioning will dehumidify the air and is more efficient in demisting. Also folding the sun visors down will help trap more of the dehumidified air against the windscreen and should help demisting.

I got the opportunity to try out your re the visors. Went out this morning and car completely frozen over 9.30am -3Cel. It took the fast de misting system from completely froze over car to all windows clear and safe to drive away exactly 7 minutes. So I was quite happy with that and the car although not warm was comfortable enough.
