Your Battery is on the trunk, the same size as Prius 3 Battery. You can get a 12 V charger from Lidl or Aldi, they are good or get NOCO genius 5, not overprice cheap made CTEK. To charge, you can open the fuse box on the engine bay, plus on the fuse box(red cover) and minus on any bare metal on the body.  It is on the handbook/manual.

Not quite sure what you are saying.  Red suggests the battery is not fully charged and is accepting power from the charger.  Green indicates the battery is charged and the charger is in float mode just topping up as needed.

Your car, a 2.0, with the battery in the boot, will have an AGM battery.  A smart charger will work with that.

What charger do you have?

The Battery is AGM, glass matt (not flooded ACID)  if it is inside the cabin/trunk for safety reasons (accident, spills, etc.).  Usually yuasa hj-s46b24 R/L (depends which country) is the original Battery but I heard some people got an updated larger Battery from Toyota.  They are all still AGM battery.   The first 3 years warranty covers battery if it goes bad.  There is a TSB (bulletin) about reprograming Emergency call standby time to reduce the draining 12V battery problem.

I have Auris 2016 and Prius 2006.  The battery easily last more than 8 years if we drive the car daily and not in hot climate (Spain, Greece, FL, TX).  They are very durable but if you plan to leave the car for 1 month or more, it is better to hook it up to a charger.  NOCO genius 5 is probably the best charger with very robust built and quality components.  CTEK is similar price but really hot and often failed from cheap plastic knobs and burn diodes and Varistor. Both charger will back ON after electric outage.  LIDL and ALDI stay off after electric outage but both are much better than any Amazon chinese charger.

If you are in airport, you can open the engine hood, open the fuse box and find the D/C CUT fuse, unplug it and it will shut off the body controller.  You do not need to crawling under the rear seat to open the battery terminal when you get back. Just use the key upen the hood and plug it back in.  5 minutes vs 30 minutes works.

If you have Voltmeter, you can just measure the voltage from the fuse box (+) and any bare metal on the body (-).   When the car is completely off, the voltage should be 12V or more.  If you turn the headlights on, the voltage is supposed to be 11V or more.  The car will go to completely sleep mode after about 20 minutes and the open voltage will be at max at that point, probably 12.3-12.6V.  If you have a charger, you can charge it unti full, disconnect the charger, turn the headlights on for 1 minute to remove the surface charge, turn the headlights off and measure the voltage of the battery again. It should be more than 12.2 V.
